Vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) is a 28-amino-acid neuropeptide belonging to the secretin/glucagon peptide superfamily.
It signals through the class B G-protein-coupled receptors VPAC1 and VPAC2, and is studied in laboratory research on smooth-muscle and secretory physiology, circadian signaling in the suprachiasmatic nucleus, and immune-cell modulation.
